The Introduction of Green Tea Extract Active Ingredients
|
*EGCG: Our product, (-)-Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is a kind of component extracted from the Chinese green tea. It is the mainly active and water-soluble component from green tea, whose content is the highest in the tea catechins. It accounts for 9-13% of green tea in net weight. By virtue of its peculiar stereochemical structure, EGCG possesses much stronger anti-oxidant activities and plays an important role in preventing from cancer and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it is potently used as the reversal agent of MDR (Multidrug Resistance), which may improve the sensitivity of the cancer cell to the chemotherapy drug and reduce the toxicity on the heart. |
*Tea Polyphenols: Green tea polyphenol, extracted and isolated from green tea, is a new natural high-tech product, containing plenty of catechins, flavonoids, etc. Now, tea polyphenol (TP) has been widely applied in foods, cosmetics and medicine industry.
TP shows excellent antioxidative effect on fat and oil-containing foods. The inhibitory rates for peroxide value are 95 and 90 percent for lard and fried instant noodles, which are better than those of BHA, BHT, VE, and etc. Furthermore, TP appears synergetic effect with vitamin E, vitamin C and citric acid, and etc. It can also improve the stability of vitamin A, B2 and ¦Â -carotene in foods, inhibit the propagation of bacteria.
TP is used as a food additive, like chewing gum, toothpaste, deodorizing and eliminating the halitosis, anticaries. It can prevent body's lipid from oxidization. Moreover, TP can stabilize the food color. TP is the health-care products. So far, some new products (like oral liquid, capsule) have been sold in market's shows a good prospect in cosmetics. The flavanols of the tea polyphenol in wavelength 200-300nm appears absorbing peak, TP is called the filter of the ultraviolet rays. TP appears on anti-inflammation and itch. Tea polyphenol supplies with active -OH helping to eliminate the excess free radicals.
Being proved by a lot of studies and clinical practice in academic and medical field, TP possesses the following effects:
1. To cure cardiovascular diseases. TP shows good effects on fibrinolysis and anti-blood agglutination, especially the free catechins, which possess the ability to prevent platelet from agglutination.
2. To inhibit arteriosclerosis, reducing the possibility of hypertensive and coronary heart disease.
3. Anticarcinogenic, it possesses the ability of blocking the formation of endogenous nitrosoamine, which is a carcinogen.
4. To strengthen the capacity of human immunity, antisenescent activity.
5. To enhance the tenacity and permeating ability of blood capillary, and improve the resistance of blood vessel. |
*L-Theanine: L-theanine is a non-protein amino acid mainly found naturally in the green tea plant (Camellia sinensis). L-theanine is the predominant amino acid in green tea and makes up 50% of the total free amino acids in the plant. The amino acid constitutes between 1% and 2% of the dry weight of green tea leaves. L-theanine is considered the main component responsible for the taste of green tea, which in Japanese is called umami. L-theanine is marketed in Japan as a nutritional supplement for mood modulation.
L-theanine is a derivative of L-glutamic acid. It is a water-soluble solid substance with the molecular formula C7H14O3 N and a molecular weight of 160.19 daltons. L-theanine is also known as gamma-ethylamino-L-glutamic acid, gamma-glutamylethylamide, r-glutamylethylamide, L-glutamic acid gamma-ethylamide and L-N-ethylglutamine. |
*Tea Yellow Pigment: Tea pigment is mainly composed of the aflavin, tea yellow pigment(TYP) and tea red pigment (TRP) and tea green pigment (TGP). It is easily soluble in eater and ethanol. As an ideal edible pigment, tea pigment has been widely used in foods such as sugar, cakes, ice cream, juice, etc., not only improving the taste of foods but also making color of foods stable. Much pharmaccody research by American doctors showed tea pigment has potentially antioxidative and special functions on health, such as inhibiting the activity of bacteria, good effects on fibrinolysis, preventing blood platelet from agglutination and arteriosclerosis. |
*Tea Polysaccharide: Tea polysaccharide (TPS) is an active ingredient in tea, which has great market value. It's a macromolecu lar compound like ginsen polysaccharide and ganoderma poly -saccharide. It shows distinguished effects on reduction of blood sugar & blood lipid and treatment of diabetes. Mean-while it effectively prevents blood embolus and agglutination, protects blood phase and strengthens the nonspecial immunity of human body. Tea polysaccharide is a natural medicine with great prospects. |
*Tea Saponin: Tea saponin(TS), a glycoside compound extracted from tea seeds, is an excellent natural nonionic active surfactants. It is raw materials. After formulation, it can be widely used in pesticide, textile, daily chemical and architecture fields for its surfactants without pollution. |
